Hello! Welcome to Past Lives Production Company.

Past Lives Production Company (hereinafter referred to as ‘PLPC’) is a new and independent student and early career production company dedicated to advocacy and new play development. PLPC hopes to establish itself as a hub for early-career artists in the Greater Toronto Area to create what they want and how they want it.

This Summer we are presenting our third-ever season: Sting

Sting will consist of one piece to be presented in the Hamilton Fringe Festival from July 19th-30th.

The piece we are presenting this summer is: roller rinks and sugary drinks by Kayla Ado

As a company, our three main values are: Maintaining a safe and comfortable space in which all involved feel welcome to share their ideas, beliefs, opinions, and experiences. Centralizing and advocating for marginalized voices. And sharing new stories.

Regarding maintaining a safe and comfortable space, some of our actionable items include having an anonymous suggestion box, appointing a willing equity representative in each company, and centralizing transparency.

To centralize and advocate for marginalized voices we are ensuring the people, companies, businesses, and movements we are supporting have equitable operating practices, actively acknowledging and challenging what colonial theatre is and our relationship to it, while discussing ways to create decolonized spaces along the way. We will also be researching local charities and donating half of all our revenue to one decided upon by the Festival Staff.

Regarding sharing new stories, we promise to; Producing New Plays that have not been seen by the public before, as well as helping to facilitate different types of rehearsal processes that best help the Playwrights to represent their stories and keep everyone safe.

All of this can be reviewed further in our Community Agreement.
