Past Lives Production Company
the 5290 festival budget

Introductions
Hello! I’m Amelia Mielke-O’Grady, the Production Manager for the 5290 Festival. Below you will find an overview of our budget for this year, something that I continue to work on as things unfold. This is a brief overview, feel free to download the PDF for a closer look, and a full breakdown is always available by request!
Things to note:
-
All fundraising revenue goes to festival staff and company share
-
Ticket sale and anthology profits go to playwrights
-
Grants and donations revenues go to fund festival costs
-
Half of all ticket sale and merchandise revenues will be donated to charity
-
Grant, donation, and fundraising revenues go directly to funding the festival and above costs (no donation portion)
Projected Expenses and Revenue
The numbers provided are estimated values based on projected fundraising and revenue totals. As proceeds are earned and expenses are calculated, they will fluctuate accordingly.
The majority of the budget is allocated to funding the project, and those involved. Throughout the process, each festival show has been budgeted $50.00CAD to aid in covering production costs. Furthermore, funds are reserved to cover any expenses required to send incentives to those who donate to help support the festival.
Revenue Breakdown
50% of total revenue between
ticket sales and merchandise sold is to be donated
to charity, which will be selected and finalized
at a later date.
Grant and donation funds are to be utilized as start up costs, aid in festival and show expenses, and the staff honorarium.
Fundraising Initiative revenue is also designated to staff honorariums and other festival costs.
Ticket sale revenue will be divided evenly among the playwrights after a 50% donation is made to charity.
Finally, with the exception of the festival play Anthology, half of revenue generated through the merchandise shop is to be donated to charity. Revenue generated through Anthology is directly divided among playwrights, with all remaining funds being allocated to funding festival costs.
